PBIS

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) is a schoolwide approach to positive behavior and a process for creating safer and more effective schools. The process focuses on improving a school’s ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students using positive reinforcement. When PBIS is implemented with fidelity, the overall school environment is calm and conducive to learning and instructional time is more effectively used for teaching.

At Diamond Valley we will have:

● Agreed upon matrixes of behavioral expectations in all areas (i.e. bathroom or cafeteria)
● HAWK Feathers and a HAWK Store
● HAWK Students of the Month & school wide assemblies
● An office referral system

The following attachments provide a brief overview of how PBIS is used at DVES. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to speak to your student’s teacher. There is a PBIS team at Diamond Valley that teachers and parents can use as an additional resource.

We are looking forward to working with you as a school community to provide a safe and successful school environment..
